Texu is excited to begin serving as a faculty to teach music theory at Portland State University in Portland Oregon, in addition to Lewis and Clark College where he will return in Spring 2017! This year, he is going to teach Music 211, 212, 213 (Theory II) and Music 421 (Analysis of Contemporary Music) at PSU as well as Music Theory/Skills II and IV at LC.
Texu is ecstatic to have been selected for the 2016 Copland House Residency Award with eight other gifted American composers, out of nearly 100 applicants from 25 states, adjudicated by eminent composers Pierre Jalbert, Carman Moore, and Robert Sirota. Texu looks forward to staying in the most inspiring place, extending the legacy of creating quality music.
Texu is excited to write a short trio piece for Arcus Collective - Maya Bennardo, Marc Charles Montesinos (Violins), and Sam Wells (Trumpet). They are commissioning ten composers to write new pieces for their tour in USA and Europe, in which they will also play ten movements from Berio's violin duo paired with the commissioned pieces in Spring 2017.
After two years (2014 and 15) of successful collaboration, Texu has renewed his position as composer-in-residence of Korean Symphony Orchestra, which will premiere two more pieces of his by the end of 2017.
